TITLE: Analytics Engineer – dbt, SQL, ETL/ELT
LOCATION: Remote
PAY: Target pay for this role is $125k-$160K but may vary based on experience
ENGAGEMENT TYPE: Direct-Hire
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
This is an Experienced level Analytics Engineer; you will work on the following:
- dbt – Medium to Enterprise-Scale Implementations
- Run your own projects and define your delivery methods
- Work closely with client data and business teams to understand their use cases and provide clean, transformed data ready for analysis and reporting
- Build data models and complex, modularized SQL queries using dbt with an eye towards performance, maintainability, and scalability
- Apply software engineering practices (e.g. code review, testing, version control) when creating new datasets to ensure data quality across our pipelines and BI tools
- Provide job orchestration best practices for clients
- Train admins, developers, and end users on platform best practices
- ETL/ELT Platforms – Connecting Data Sources
- Implement and optimize different ETL/ELT platforms for our clients
- Work with data engineering to construct and implement architectural data solutions
- Provide resources and guidance on choosing different providers
- Databases
- Provide insight into basic strategies for database architecture
- Consult clients on database best practices around performance and economy
- Provide resources and guidance on choosing different providers
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Experience developing in dbt core (CLI)
- Broad knowledge of prominent data-oriented software solutions
- Experience developing in Python
- Experience designing or building warehouse objects using data warehouse design frameworks & techniques (e.g. Kimball dimensional modeling, slowly-changing dimensions, Data Vault)
- Deep knowledge of any prominent data vertical (i.e. Healthcare, Finance, Retail, etc.)
- Experience in a distributed workplace
- Ability for limited travel (post pandemic)
