Application Security Engineer
Contract To Hire

OVERVIEW:
- ProFocus is searching for an Application Security Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Portland, OR.
- This is a Sr. level role with great pay and is responsible for advancing the objectives of a Secure SDLC program including onboarding development teams, triaging defects, advising teams on mitigation strategies and support training to increase awareness in secure coding practices. REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is preferred, but demonstrated experience is most important.
- 3 or more years of experience in secure SDLC practices.
- Minimum of a year experience coding in Python or JavaScript.
- Knowledge of software security best practices (OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25, NIST etc. Knowledge of security assessment tools and manual security testing techniques. Experience reporting metrics around software security defects, remediation, tool utilization and training.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Have proven experience as a software developer using Python and/or JavaScript. Experience training and mentoring developers in the practice of secure coding.
- Authorization to work in the US is a precondition of employment. We do not sponsor work visas.
