We’re excited to share an update that helps formalize something that’s long been true: collaboration across Oregon’s tech ecosystem works best when it’s grounded in trust, shared experience, and consistent leadership engagement.
ProFocus Technology and Technology Association of Oregon have formalized a partnership focused on strengthening the technology leadership community across the Silicon Forest. This collaboration builds on years of alignment, shared audiences, and overlapping goals — allowing both organizations to be more intentional in how we support technology leaders navigating complex, evolving challenges.
ProFocus and TAO Partnership
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to Oregon’s technology leaders and the belief that meaningful leadership development happens through connection, not content alone. By formalizing our collaboration, we’re creating clearer alignment around how we convene leaders, elevate shared challenges, and foster peer learning across the ecosystem.
Tech Leader Roundtables in the Silicon Forest
As part of this partnership, ProFocus Tech Leader Roundtables will be included within the broader collaboration as we continue to evolve our Tech Leader Series. The foundation of these roundtables remains unchanged:
-
Peer-driven, off-the-record discussions
-
Conversations rooted in real, day-to-day leadership challenges
-
Practical insights shared by others in similar roles
The intent is not to scale for scale’s sake, but to preserve what makes these conversations valuable while thoughtfully expanding perspective and participation.
Past roundtable topics include:
- Who Owns AI and How Do We Platform It
- GenAI, Technical Debt, and the Future of Tech Leadership
- Why MLOps is the Future of Scalable, Reliable AI in Tech
- AI: Separating Hype from Reality and Unlocking Business Value
Peer Leadership Conversations
As a long-standing convener across Oregon’s tech ecosystem, TAO brings a broad lens, leadership insight, and access to senior leaders navigating similar challenges. This helps deepen the quality and diversity of discussion while maintaining the trusted, candid tone that defines these roundtables.
Building Oregon’s Tech Leadership Community
Over time, this partnership supports a shared goal: building a connected technology leadership community across the Silicon Forest — grounded in peer relationships, shared challenges, and experience-based learning. It’s a steady, intentional approach that prioritizes substance over spotlight.
Leadership Insights That Matter
The most valuable leadership insights often come from open conversation with peers who understand the realities of leading teams, managing change, and balancing delivery with long-term strategy. These roundtables are designed to create space for those conversations to happen naturally.
What This Means Going Forward
We’re looking forward to welcoming both returning and new participants to upcoming roundtables. If you’ve joined us before, you can expect the same thoughtful, high-trust conversations — now supported by a more formalized partnership. If you’re new, we’re excited to have you join what we’re continuing to build together.
As always, thank you to the leaders who show up, contribute openly, and make these conversations meaningful.
